Introduction to Foreign Language - Yorkville High School

Spain

The Yorkville High School Library serves every department of the school in different capacities. The Foreign Language department is no exception as they strive to educate students on more than just language. It is the libraries duty to supply this department with cultural resources to aide in student learning.

The study of a foreign language prepares students for participation in a global economy and society. Students are exposed not only to another means of communication, but also to opportunities to appreciate cultural differences and tolerance for cultural individuality. Studying a foreign language increases one’s knowledge of one’s own language and culture and provides a step up in college and career selection

-       Department Chair: Mrs. Thea Roessler
